As spring reaches its full bloom, Southern California is buzzing with exciting events that draw both locals and travelers alike. Here's a round-up of some must-attend events near San Diego this coming week:

San Diego County Fair - Kicking off on May 15 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, this beloved annual fair will feature rides, concerts, and delicious food, offering something for everyone. Don't miss the grand opening with the famous Ferris wheel lighting up the night sky!

Gator by the Bay Festival - From May 16-18, savor the flavors of Louisiana at Spanish Landing Park with live music, dancing, and mouthwatering southern cuisine. It’s the largest Cajun and Zydeco music festival on the west coast.

Traffic Conditions and Transportation Tips

With these events, traffic conditions around San Diego can be challenging. Here's how to navigate effectively:

Plan Ahead: Major routes like I-5 and I-8 can get congested, especially during peak hours. Use apps like Waze or Google Maps to stay updated on real-time traffic conditions.

Public Transit: Consider using the San Diego Trolley which provides a hassle-free transport mode to numerous city hubs including near Petco Park and the Santa Fe Depot. It’s both economical and environmentally friendly.
