Seamless Transportation Tips from San Diego International Airport

Given San Diego’s bustling traffic, smart transportation planning is essential. Here’s how you can optimize your commute during this busy event week:

Traffic Conditions

With a mixture of tourist activity and local commuters, anticipate moderate to heavy traffic around major venues, especially near downtown San Diego and Balboa Park. Weekdays around 7-9 AM and 4-6 PM are peak hours to watch for. Tools like Google Maps and Waze can offer real-time traffic updates and alternate routes to avoid congested areas.

Public Transit and More

San Diego Trolley: Convenient for reaching downtown, Balboa Park, and other cultural sites, it’s an affordable option to bypass traffic.

Ridesharing & Taxis: Reliable for shorter distances; however, surge pricing could apply during peak times around major events.
